Feeling stressed is a perfectly normal psychological and physical condition in today’s busy world. It is actually an unconscious reaction to the demanding tasks and situations that we experience on a daily basis. Our brain keeps us alarmed when in a stressful situation, and if you experience these situations constantly, your alarm system won’t shut down, which will cause high levels of stress. Not only do the different situations make you stressed out, but also overthinking about bad relationships, financial problems, work and family.

1. Identify the stress trigger

The inevitable step to getting rid of stress is realizing what stresses you out. It can be caused by both positive and negative events, however, the negative events are more stressful. Positive events that trigger stress are moving to a new house, getting engaged or married, and a new job, however, the stress of high levels can be caused only if 2 of these happen during one year. Once you identify the stress causes, you will be able to reduce it. For example, if you are feeling stressed when doing house chores, then try to make them more interesting by giving your tasks a soundtrack.

2. Make some physical activity your hobby

Being stressed all the time is what usually triggers other more serious illnesses such as various heart problems, chronic headaches and in some cases even colon cancer. By doing some physical activity, you can protect yourself from various illnesses and physical injuries, whereas, colon cancer prevention demands a bit more than just a being physically active. The best physical activity is swimming, so if there is a swimming pool in your neighborhood, get a membership card and visit it at least twice a week. However, if you are not a fan of swimming or there is not a swimming pool nearby, then take up some yoga classes, which will not only make you healthier and more flexible, but also get your body in better shape. Go jogging or take a walk around your neighborhood almost every day, and soon, you’ll realize that your body is more resistant to everyday stress.

3. Learn how to relax

A vacation that lasts for one week or two will certainly relax you and help you recharge your batteries, however, it is an instant solution to your problem, because, when you get back to your regular life, you won’t be able to avoid stressful situations. In order to block the negativity that affects your health, you need to learn how to relax on a daily basis. Before you go to work, instead of drinking coffee and eating breakfast in a hurry, try waking up a bit earlier and sit in the quiet area of your home. If you have a peaceful garden, then enjoy the sun and nature, while taking the first sip of your early morning coffee. During working hours, instead of being on social networks, you can listen to some relaxing music or on a lunch break, eat in some new restaurant or just take a short walk.

When you identify stress, you will be able to learn how to deal with it, just don’t try to avoid it, because you might unconsciously pile up all the negative thoughts and situations, which can negatively affect your health, productivity and mood. Learn to relax and to enjoy little things, which will make you happy and fulfilled. Moreover, do some exercises to let the steam off and get rid of stress.
