Organizing a Birthday Party for Your Toddler
One thing children absolutely adore are birthday parties. They like attending them but they especially like the ones thrown in their name. They receive a lot of attention, a lot of gifts, and get to spend a whole day with the friends and family they love. However, form a parent’s perspective, this day can be quite a challenge. Since we would do anything on our child’s special day, we want to give them a memorable birthday party. This means preparing food, redecorating your home, coming up with activities to keep other children occupied, etc. If you are about to organize a party for your child, here are a couple of suggestion that you might find useful.
Set a date
When it comes to organizing parties, you do not have to pick a date that is exactly the one when your child is born. Always opt for Friday or the weekend. This way, you will have enough time to prepare everything, and people won’t be bothered by the fact that they have to work tomorrow. Also remember to check what kind of weather you can expect if you are planning to throw a party outside. Furthermore, your child will be thrilled that he, or she will get all the attentions and birthday cards on her birthday, plus get a lot of gifts and a great party during the weekend.
Chose a party theme
This may cause some additional work, but rest assured that children absolutely love birthday parties with a specific theme. You can go with Disney cartoons, superheroes, pirates etc. This means your child will have to wear a costume, and their friends will be dressed like other characters as well. Parents might find it bothersome that you are organizing a party for which they have to come up with costumes, so expect from them to return the favour.
Costumes are not the only part, you will have to buy plates with the same theme and find a whole playlist to be compatible with your theme. As mentioned, it is a bit bothersome but it is definitely worth it.
Organizing activates
It was already stated that the best way to keep children occupied and under control is by introducing creative games. If possible, try to alter the well-known games into something related to the theme. If you play the game of hot potato, say that the ball is a nuclear device and one hero will sacrifice himself for the greater good. Do a thorough research on birthday activates and see what you can do to twist them into the favour of the theme.
Another way is hire an entertainer, a clown or exotic animal owner, something that will impress the kids or make them laugh. Moreover, you will have some time to catch your breath and rest a little from all the planning and decorating. Finally, have a schedule for how long will do intend each activity to last. This way, you will have a good overview of how long the party is going to last.
Gift opening
Make sure that, at some point, you gather everyone to open the gifts, since everyone is curious to see what is in those colourful boxes. This way, you satisfy everyone’s curiosity and make sure your kid says a proper thank you, for the gifts received. Don’t forget to buy something for your kid as well, and make it a surprise. It would be better to shop for it online so that your child does not suspect anything. Plus, when the package arrives it will be in a normal box — it won’t look like a gift.
Finally, when serving snacks and drinks, try to avoid sugary treats, after all there is a cake at the very end of the party, and kids will have a hard time falling asleep after too much sweets. Another thing you mustn’t forget is to send all the invitation in a timely manner, and mention what kind of party it will be. I am convinced that you will be able to pull it off, and enjoy yourself as your child and everyone else at the party are having a time of their life.
